How it works

Built around user control: the user structures the matter, chooses whether and how to be contacted, and separately authorizes any packet access.

1

User creates a matter

A consumer organizes their situation — documents, notes, and questions — in their private folder.

2

User authorizes contact

The user decides whether they want attorney contact at all, and in which mode: private, selected, matched, or open.

3

You review a summary

Eligible verified attorneys see a de-identified opportunity card — jurisdiction, practice category, urgency, packet readiness. Never raw documents.

4

User grants packet access

If the user chooses you, they will separately authorize packet access — summary only, selected documents, or full packet; read-only or download; time-limited if they want. Every access will be logged and revocable. (Launching with professional memberships.)

5

Consultation happens

You arrive at the consultation with organized facts, documents, and notes — and the user arrives knowing what to ask.

User permission model

Packet access is user-authorized. Always.

A paid membership decides which attorneys may receive and respond to opportunities — it never overrides user consent, jurisdiction rules, conflict safeguards, or packet-access permissions. Users choose one of four contact modes:

Private

The user wants education and organization only. No attorney contact, no matter visibility.

Selected Lawyer

The user chooses a specific attorney from the directory. Only that attorney receives the invitation; packet access still requires separate authorization.

Matched Lawyer

The user asks for eligible lawyers. A limited de-identified summary may be shown to matched attorneys; the user selects who may contact them.

Open Opportunity

The user authorizes visibility to qualified professional members. Verified attorneys see de-identified opportunity cards based on membership, state, and practice area; packet access still requires authorization.

What you see before user authorization

  • General state or jurisdiction where appropriate
  • Practice category and high-level issue type
  • Urgency level and approximate event date where necessary
  • Language preference
  • Whether documents exist and whether a packet is ready
  • The user's requested contact method after permission

Never shown before authorization — on any plan

  • User name (unless the user permits it)
  • Precise home address or private location
  • Opposing-party identities where sensitive
  • Raw documents, photos, screenshots, credit records, or evidence
  • Social Security numbers, financial or immigration identifiers, protected personal information
  • Any download or copy of user materials, or direct contact, before user authorization

All packet access is permission-scoped (summary only, selected documents, or full packet; read-only or download; time-limited), logged, and revocable by the user at any time (launching with professional memberships).

The firm ROI case

  • Users arrive having already identified their issue, jurisdiction, documents, and next-step needs.
  • Organized records and documents reduce intake friction — staff time is saved even when a matter is declined.
  • One converted matter can justify the monthly subscription for many firms.
  • You control the states, practice areas, and languages that match your firm.

Verified professionals only

Bar verification

Registration requires bar number, jurisdiction, bar-status verification, practice areas, firm information, professional email, and identity verification.

Per-jurisdiction status

Verification is stored separately for each jurisdiction you cover and re-verified periodically. Firm admins, attorneys, staff, and billing contacts are separate roles.

Accountability

Administrators can approve, suspend, restrict, or audit accounts. Complaints, refunds, missed consultations, improper contact, and disputed packet access are tracked.

Attorney FAQ

Is this just another directory?

No. Users on Street Legal AI organize their situation — documents, notes, jurisdiction, questions — before they ever contact counsel. Membership is about receiving organized, user-authorized opportunities, not a listing alone.

Are the opportunities qualified?

Opportunities are filtered by jurisdiction, practice area, urgency, language, user consent, packet readiness, and matter category. You choose the states and practice areas that match your firm.

Will I get private documents without permission?

No. Packet access is user-authorized, permission-scoped, time-limited where the user chooses, and logged. Paid membership never overrides user consent.

Does membership guarantee clients or cases?

No. Membership provides professional visibility, workflow software, and access to user-authorized opportunities within your plan limits. No outcomes, clients, or fees are guaranteed, and Street Legal AI never takes a percentage of legal fees.

How does verification work?

Registration requires your bar number, jurisdiction, bar-status verification, practice areas, firm information, and acceptance of professional terms. Verification is stored per jurisdiction and re-checked periodically. Administrators can approve, suspend, or audit accounts.

Can I cancel?

Yes — memberships are subscriptions with no long-term lock-in outside negotiated enterprise contracts. Billing, seats, states, and practice areas are managed from your professional dashboard.

What about conflicts and ethics?

You confirm conflict-check status before accessing sensitive materials, and you remain responsible for conflicts, competence, jurisdiction, and engagement terms. No attorney-client relationship is created by listing, routing, or packet review.

Ready to receive organized, permissioned opportunities?

Street Legal AI is not a law firm and does not provide legal representation. Attorney membership does not guarantee clients, case outcomes, fees, or user selection. Attorneys remain responsible for conflicts, competence, engagement terms, professional duties, and compliance with all applicable rules. No attorney-client relationship is created by listing a lawyer, routing an opportunity, or allowing packet review.
